Tai Cheng – Beachbody’s Tai Chi Now Available

Tai Chang is a new workout from Beachbody. They are the creators of such programs as P90X, Insanity, Turbo Fire and many others. Beachbody is expanding their offer again with a Tai Chi inspired workout. This program takes the traditional martial art of Tai Chi and combines it with modern sports medicine.

Dr. Mark Cheng is the creator of Tai Cheng and is more than qualified to bring forth this program. He is an acupuncturist with a PhD in Chinese Medicine. He has studied strength training, corrective medicine and applied rehabilitative neurology. His passion has been studying martial arts and how it applies in combat, sports science and medicine.

What is Tai Cheng?

Tai Cheng is a system that focuses on finding limitations in the body’s mobility and points of deficiency in the body’s stability. It helps relax the limitations and creates patterns of relaxed control over the movements. It uses the most powerful learning’s from modern sports medicine, physical therapy and rehabilitation combined with Tai Chi.

Why Is Tai Cheng for You?

If you want to perform better then you are currently performing, then Tai Cheng is for you. This is a workout for everyone to help you train better and avoid injury. It will help you gain better control of your movements which will help you with form during other workouts. This will help prevent injury and allow you to train more effectively. You will also have better athletic performance to – lift harder, increase reps, experience less discomfort and have better endurance.

Should You Do Tai Cheng?

Obviously that is up to you. The best way to know is to try it for yourself and jump out of your comfort zone. I was actually on the fence about whether I would get this or not. I usually gravitate to P90X, Insanity, Tony Horton’s One on One or LES MILLS PUMP.
The more I’ve read about Tai Cheng, the more interested I am. I don’t think my form is the best during my usual workouts and the idea of being able to have better control of my body is intriguing. My ambitious plan is to use this in the morning for the full 13 weeks while in the afternoons I continue my usual training. I’ve also realized my body recuperates a little differently at 40 versus 30 so maybe this will help with some rehabilitation.
